Karen, you’ve written novels set in fantasy worlds and contemporary settings. Which do you find more challenging to write and why?
Today I’m talking with Jen Cameron, the marketing coordinator from Orca Books.
Jen is a new author’s best friend. When Betting Game was still in edits, she gave me a game plan and coached me through the process. My book was in good hands, every step of the way.
Orca author Heather Smith fields my questions this week. Her novel Baygirl was a 2015 OLA White Pine Award nominee.
What made you decide on this time and place in history for the story?
Three questions for Trudee Romanek, author of Raising the Stakes, a new Orca Limelights title.
To research Raising the Stakes, you took an improv class yourself. What did your firsthand experiences onstage teach you that you never could have learned from watching?
Confession time. I’m a book pirate. Have been since my first library card. Some people you just can’t trust with books.
